Which License Type is Best for Me?
FluidFlow licensing is flexible. It fits the technical needs, budget, and project timelines of your organization. We supply network (server-based) licenses as standard. They give you shared access, central control, and the best value as your team grows.
We recommend the best option for you based on your usage, your number of users, and your project requirements. We support each recommendation with ROI and payback calculations.
The typical payback period is from two weeks to a few months. It depends on your project volume and the size of your team.
Our Standard Approach: Network Licensing
A network license is installed one time on a server. Your users share a pool of seats. Any user on your network can use FluidFlow when a seat is free.
Network licensing gives you:
One central installation to manage.
Access from multiple workstations.
Easy changes when people join or leave your team.
No license transfers when you replace a computer.
Simple growth: you add seats, not new installations.
License Types
1. Annual Network Lease (recommended)
One-year term with full SUM for the entire period.
Flexible access across multiple workstations. Concurrent use is limited to the number of seats that you purchase.
Ideal for teams that need predictable annual costs and multi-user access.
A 3-year agreement is also available. The price stays the same for the 3 years.
2. Enterprise / Unlimited Licenses
Designed for large organizations that need broad access across multiple departments or locations.
Delivered on a network installation, tailored for dedicated or unlimited user access.
Includes enhanced support terms and full SUM coverage.
3. Perpetual Licenses
Available only to selected customers. Please contact us for eligibility.
Gives you long-term access to FluidFlow.
Includes 12 months of SUM (Support, Updates & Maintenance) from purchase.
A new perpetual license purchase includes a SUM agreement for years 2 to 5. You sign this agreement when you purchase the license.
If you are an existing customer and you add a license, we apply these terms case by case, based on your history with us.
Your quote shows the license price and the SUM fee for each year. Your initial purchase order must cover the license price and SUM for years 2 to 5.
After year 5, SUM renews each year.
SUM gives you updates, support, and license replacement (subject to our fair-usage policy).
If SUM lapses, the license stays valid. You do not receive updates, support, or license replacement until you reinstate SUM. A reinstatement fee applies.
Full terms are in the SUM Policy.
4. Named User License (limited availability)
For one specific user who cannot use a network installation.
Available case by case. Please contact us before you request a quote.
Includes SUM for the full term.
Installation Types
Server-Based Network (standard): one central installation on your server. Users share the seats that you purchase.
Named User (limited availability): installed locally. The software gets the license from our server for the assigned user.
Standalone (legacy): we no longer supply new standalone licenses. Existing standalone licenses stay supported while SUM is active.

The number of users who need regular access.
Your current design methods and software.

SUM includes:
Technical support.
All software updates during the coverage period.
Maintenance services.
License replacement if necessary (subject to fair usage).

Frequently Asked Questions
How soon can I access my license after purchase?
Usually on the same day, if your Network Admin has the installation instructions. See the Network Installation Guide.
Why do you supply network licenses as standard?
One installation serves your whole team. You manage access in one place. You do not need to transfer licenses when people or computers change.
Can I use FluidFlow on multiple computers?
Yes, with a network license. Any computer on your network can use FluidFlow when a seat is free. The number of concurrent users is limited to the number of seats that you purchase.
Can I buy a new standalone license?
No. Standalone licenses are legacy. We supply network licenses as standard. Contact us if you have a special requirement.
I have a standalone license. Is it still supported?
Yes. Your license stays supported while your SUM is active. When you renew, ask us about a change to a network license.
Can I transfer my license to another computer?
Network licenses do not need transfers. For a legacy standalone license, see the Standalone License Transfer Guide.
Will FluidFlow work on a Mac?
Only through Windows virtualization (for example: Parallels, VMware Fusion).
What happens after my SUM period ends?
Annual licenses: you must renew to continue to use FluidFlow.
New perpetual licenses with a SUM agreement: the agreement covers years 2 to 5. After year 5, SUM renews each year.
Existing perpetual licenses: SUM renews each year. If SUM lapses, the license stays active, but you lose access to updates, support, and license replacement. A reinstatement fee applies to rejoin.
Is there a trial version?
