What is Stagnation Pressure?
Stagnation Pressure is the sum of the Velocity Pressure & Static Pressure. Stagnation temperature is the temperature of the fluid at the stagnation pressure and likewise static temperature is the temperature of the fluid at the static pressure.
The Stagnation temperature is the temperature that the fluid would reach if it were brought to a rest isentropically, converting its kinetic energy to enthalpy.

What is the difference between Stagnation & Static Pressure
The Stagnation Pressure is the sum of the Static Pressure and Velocity Pressure. In the example below, we can see that the Stagnation Pressure at the pipe inlet is 111457.5 Pa a. We can also see that this is the sum of the In Static Pressure and In ...
Reservoir/Tank Node & Negative Static Pressure
When modeling a system with a reservoir or tan node at the outlet, it's important to note that the software will calculate the values for the supply pipeline based on the defined system operating conditions etc. We then need to review the results to ...
Sprinkler Pressures
In sprinkler literature, all pressure losses are defined as total (stagnation) pressure loss. A sprinkler K represents a total pressure loss. FluidFlow uses total pressures and total pressure losses which means the we should be using stagnation ...
Sprinkler Nozzle Min & Max Pressures
Note, the values for "Min Operating Pressure" and "Max Operating Pressure" defined for a sprinkler nozzle in the database relate to the results for stagnation/total pressure at the inlet of the sprinkler and are only used as a basis for enunciating a ...
