FluidFlow Support Updates + Maintenance (SUM) Policy
Effective June 13, 2025
Critical Deadline: October 31, 2025
All SUM customers must take action by October 31, 2025 to maintain their licensing rights and claim FlowDesigner benefits.
What is SUM?
Support Updates + Maintenance (SUM) keeps your FluidFlow software current and supported.
Annual SUM cost: 24% of current list price
SUM includes:
- Technical support via email (48-hour response)
- Basic modeling assistance and troubleshooting
- Access to all software updates (major and minor)
- Complimentary basic on-demand training
- License replacement protection
- Multi-year renewal discounts (size-dependent)
Important: SUM is required for perpetual license replacements. Without active SUM, we cannot replace lost licenses.
Current FluidFlow Customers Holding Perpetual Licensing
If Your SUM is Active (as of October 31, 2025)
You automatically receive:
- Complimentary named-user FlowDesigner subscription (co-termed with perpetual license SUM)
- Continued right to purchase and replace perpetual licenses
Action required: Sign FlowDesigner contract by October 31, 2025 to claim your subscription.
If Your SUM is Inactive
You must renew SUM by October 31, 2025 or you will lose:
- FlowDesigner subscription entitlement
- Perpetual license replacement rights (permanently)
Good news: Inactive FluidFlow SUM customers can still claim their free FlowDesigner entitlement by renewing their SUM by October 31, 2025.
New Customers
Perpetual Licenses
- Available until October 31, 2025 for select new customers with:
- History of purchasing SUM with their licensing, OR
- Commitment to a long-term SUM agreement
- After October 31, 2025: Available on case-by-case basis only, based on:
- Previous purchase history
- License value
- SUM commitment
- No free FlowDesigner subscription included with new perpetual purchases
Alternative: Annual Lease Licenses
- Recommended for companies not wanting SUM commitment
- SUM included for lease duration

Customers who purchased before June 30, 2022 receive discounted rates if renewed within 60 days of expiry.
License Replacement Fees

License replacements are subject to a fair usage policy.
License Management Rules
- Perpetual licenses managed as single pool - you cannot reduce specific license types within the pool
- Example: 3 Liquid + 3 Gas Network licenses cannot be reduced to 3 Liquid + 2 Gas
- Continuous active SUM required to maintain both FlowDesigner subscription and perpetual license replacement rights
FlowDesigner Integration
Eligibility & Timeline
- Complimentary FlowDesigner subscriptions determined by SUM status on March 28, 2025
- Deadline: Sign required contract by October 31, 2025 to claim subscription
- New FluidFlow perpetual licenses purchased after March 28, 2025 are not eligible for a complimentary FlowDesigner subscription

- Eligible customers will be contacted with onboarding instructions
- Sign required contract by October 31, 2025
- FlowDesigner subscription activated (co-termed with perpetual licenses)
