Slurry Packed Bed Voidage

Slurry Packed Bed Voidage

A settling slurry model can contain a warning message in relation to packed bed voidage. The software takes into account the bulk density of the solids defined in the solids database. This warning means the defined concentration of solids cannot physically fit within the pipe CSA (Cross-Sectional Area).

A slurry system has been created and the solids data defined at the system inlet using PSD data. The system has been modeled and all pipes show a warning message indicating that the slurry may in fact be non-settling as the d50 particle size ...

In general, the WASC correlation is the only method which considers vertical pipes, i.e. different equations are used for pipe inclinations above 30 degrees. Above 80 degrees, the solution assumes a vertical pipe. The WASC method uses only the d50 ...
    • Possibly non settling slurry Warning Message

This message is enunciated based on the slurry data define, more specifically, the particle size (see image below). The warning is issued to prompt the user into checking the solids data or rheology data. If you don't already have rheology data, it ...
    • Can FluidFlow predict potential blockages in slurry pipelines?

FluidFlow gives a saltation/blockage warning if the pipe is horizontal AND the flowing slurry velocity is below the (maximum) deposition velocity. The deposition velocity varies with slurry concentration and FluidFlow uses the maximum deposition ...
