A "Network Build Error" usually indicates the following:
1. There is an issue with the model connectivity. Occasionally, the nodes are not connected to the main model or overlap one another giving the impression that the model has been built and connected correctly. Have a quick look at the warning messages and the nodes in the model to ensure they are connected together as intended.
2. A "Network Build Error" can be a sign that some data in the model has become corrupt. A quick step in an attempt to resolve this issue is to copy the model to a new clean Flowsheet to re-initialize the properties for all nodes in the model.
To do this, take the following steps:
1. Select: Edit | Select | Select All. The entire model will be highlighted on your Flowsheet. Take note of the Zoom settings, i.e. 35%, 50% etc.
2. Select the COPY button.
3.Create a new Flowsheet by selecting: File | New.
4. Ensure the Zoom settings of your new Flowsheet match that of the Flowsheet from where you copied the model, i.e. 35%, 50% etc.
5. Select the PASTE button and paste your model to your new flowsheet.
6. Select the CALCULATE button to refresh results. Check the MESSAGES tab of the Data Palette for any warnings and resolve any fundamental warnings.

This warning can arise if a model or node within a model has been corrupt. As a first pass, it is recommended to copy and paste the model to a new Flowsheet to re-initialize the nodes in the model. Select "Calculate" to determine if the model now ...
Beginner Modeling Tips
When developing a model, it is recommended that the user adopts the following approach: 1.Build the model in sections using a step-by-step approach. It is prudent to develop the model in sections, testing each section as you build the model as this ...
Solid Phase Detected
This can occur when the fluid in a system has dropped below it's freezing temperature. Perhaps too much heat is being removed from the network via a heat exchanger? What you can consider here is adding a bypass loop at the effected heat exchanger and ...
Are you able to model two different fluids from a heat exchanger?
Scenario: Say we want to analyze the cooling in a system where we have two separate flows, one of chilled water, and one of warm air to be cooled using the heat exchanger. Answer: In relation to the heat exchangers, we need to create one model of the ...
Fan/Blower Performance Curve (Performance Corrections Based on Operating Conditions)
When entering a new fan or blower to the database, we must define if the reference gas volume flow units are based on STP (101325 Pa at 15oC) or NTP (101325 Pa at 0oC) conditions (Figure 1). When we then model the specific blower/fan in a system, ...
