Manual Valves (Gate, Globe, Butterfly and Ball Valves)
The software includes a database of valves including gate, globe, butterfly and ball valves. When adding a new valve to the database, you have the option of defining a single K, Kv, Cv or Kf value for a valve or define a curve relationship of % open vs K, Kv, Cv or Kf.
The image below provides a snapshot of an example valve for your information. If the valve you are looking is not in the database, it can easily be added.

Spray Balls are used for hygienic and industrial cleaning applications and typically use a high flow rate and low pressure to clean the residue from the inside surface of tanks, milk silos etc. The pressure loss relationship of a spray ball can be ...
Relief Valves - Turn off auto-sizing and define a vendor relief valve data
When modeling a relief valve, you can set the "Automatically Size" function to OFF and define the relief valve data as shown below. When we then model this relief valve, the flow etc is calculated as shown in the results below:
Fire hydrants
Fire hydrants can be modeled in FluidFlow and are available from the VALVES tab on the Component Palette (see image below): Figure 1 below also shows how a fire hydrant can be modeled in a system. The system in Figure 1 shows a single supply tank ...
Damper node
FluidFlow does not include a specific damper node. Users tend to use either of the following approaches: Option 1: Use a flow control valve node. This allows you to define the flow rate and the software will calculate the resultant % opening of the ...
