FluidFlow Licensing Policy for Transition to New Solution (v3.5x and Next Major Release)

This licensing policy outlines the terms and conditions applicable to existing FluidFlow v3.5x customers and the transition to the next major release of our software solution. The policy covers the following key aspects:

  1. Perpetual License Transition:
    • In contrast to the previous transition from v2.x to v3.x, where perpetual licenses were swapped for the new version, customers will retain their existing FluidFlow v3.5x perpetual licenses during and after the transition to the next major release.
    • Existing customers with perpetual licenses and active Software Update and Maintenance (SUM) agreements will receive a named-user subscription license for the new solution, with capabilities equivalent to their current FluidFlow v3.5x license.
    • The subscription license will be valid for the duration of the active SUM agreement.
  2. FluidFlow License Maintenance (SUM):
    • FluidFlow v3.5x licenses will continue to work and be maintained in accordance with the terms of the SUM agreement.
    • Customers will continue to receive support and updates for their FluidFlow v3.5x licenses.
  3. Network Compatibility:
    • Networks modeled in the latest release of FluidFlow v3.5x can be transferred to the new solution, ensuring a seamless transition for customers.
    • Customers are advised to use the latest FluidFlow release to ensure compatibility with the new solution.
  4. Licensing Snapshot:
    • A snapshot of applicable licensing will be taken in July 2024 to determine eligibility for the transition to the new solution.
    • Customers are encouraged to ensure their licensing information is up-to-date prior to the snapshot.
  5. Pricing Information and Discounts:
    • Discounts can be negotiated for group licenses. Factors such as customer duration, current user pool, and future user pool will be considered when determining applicable discounts.
    • Customers transitioning to the new solution will be informed of any pricing changes and potential discounts in advance.

By adhering to this license policy, Flite Software NI Ltd aims to provide a smooth transition for our customers to the next major release of our software solution, ensuring continued support, compatibility, and value for our users.
