License Manager in FluidFlow

License Manager in FluidFlow

Some information with regards to the FluidFlow3 License Manager.

  • The License Manager application is FluidFlow3LM.EXE and will be located in the same folder as the FluidFlow3 application, PSFF.EXE.
Note: In a typical installation this is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Flite\FluidFlow3.
  • It is part of the FluidFlow3 installation (FF3SETUP.EXE), and requires 20MB of disk space for the FluidFlow3LM.EXE file.
Note: The latest version of the License Manager is also available here, and can be used with any version of FluidFlow3.
  • The License Manager is used to activate or deactivate FluidFlow3, or to transfer (export/import) modules between licenses.
  • The application does not interact with FlexLM, or any other license servers.
  • The License Manager does not run constantly in the background on your server, nor is it called by any other software. It is a standard Windows application, which can create (i.e., activate) a license file (FF3.LIC) based on the Hard Disk Serial No. of the computer it is being run from.
Note: FluidFlow3 does not need the License Manager to run on your server for it to function; FluidFlow3 will look for the license file on the server, not the License Manager application.
  • Activation typically only occurs once after you've installed the software. You can then remove portal.fluidflowinfo.com from your firewall exceptions if you desire.
Note: You do not need to re-activate FluidFlow3 after you have upgraded to a later version; you would only need to re-activate if you change the modules (number of liquid or gas modules, for example) in your license.
