Can FluidFlow detect Choked Flow conditions?

Yes. FluidFlow will automatically detect choked flow conditions and limit the mass flow rate accordingly. Choked flow can occur where the flow path experiences a change in cross-sectional area or as flow exits a pipe into a vessel or to atmosphere. FluidFlow detects both of these conditions and a warning message is enunciated to indicate the presence or likelihood of choked flow. 

When choked flow occurs when there is a change in cross-sectional area (for example at a valve, orifice late, pipe reducer etc), the warning message appears as follows:
