FluidFlow Support Updates + Maintenance (SUM) Policy

Critical Deadline: December 31, 2025
All SUM customers must take action by December 31, 2025 to maintain perpetual license entitlements and claim FlowDesigner benefits.
What is SUM?
Support Updates + Maintenance (SUM) keeps your FluidFlow software current and fully supported.
Annual SUM cost: 24% of current list price
SUM includes:
- Technical support via email (48-hour response)
- Basic modeling assistance and troubleshooting
- Access to software updates and version releases
- Complimentary basic on-demand training
- License recovery protection
- Multi-year renewal discounts (volume-dependent)
Important: Ongoing SUM is required to maintain perpetual license entitlements. Without current SUM coverage, license recovery and activation rights cannot be provided.
For Current FluidFlow Customers with Perpetual Licenses
If Your SUM is Active (as of December 31, 2025)
You automatically receive:
- Continued perpetual license entitlement and activation rights
- License recovery protection
- Complimentary named-user FlowDesigner subscription (co-termed with SUM)
Action required: Sign FlowDesigner enrollment agreement by December 31, 2025 to activate your subscription.
How to claim your FlowDesigner subscription:
- Eligible customers receive direct enrollment instructions
- Complete enrollment agreement by December 31, 2025
- FlowDesigner subscription activates (co-termed with perpetual SUM) on signing of contract
If Your SUM is Inactive
To maintain your perpetual license entitlements, renew SUM by January 1, 2026.
Without active SUM, you may lose access to:
- FlowDesigner subscription entitlement
- Perpetual license activation and recovery rights
- Current software version access
Extended opportunity: Inactive SUM customers can still claim their FlowDesigner entitlement by renewing SUM by December 31, 2025.
For New Customers
Perpetual Licenses
Recommended path to perpetual ownership:
- Long-term license commitment required
- Converts to full perpetual ownership upon completion
- SUM included throughout commitment term
- Ongoing commitment to SUM required even after conversion to perpetual ownership
- Available to qualifying organizations
Qualification criteria:
- Demonstrated commitment to multi-year software investment, OR
- History of maintaining support agreements, OR
- Substantial license value
Note: Standard perpetual licensing (pay-in-advance) available on case-by-case basis only.
Alternative: Annual Subscription Licenses
- Recommended for organizations preferring annual flexibility
- SUM included for subscription duration
- Network and Named-User options available

Note: License recovery is governed by fair usage guidelines. Recovery requests within 6 months of SUM expiry require proof of renewal order.
License Pool Management
- Perpetual licenses managed as unified pools
- Individual module types within a pool cannot be selectively reduced
- Example: A pool of 3 Liquid + 3 Gas licenses cannot be modified to 3 Liquid + 2 Gas
- Ongoing SUM required to maintain activation rights and FlowDesigner subscription
FlowDesigner Additional Licenses
Eligibility note: Complimentary subscriptions determined by SUM status on October 22, 2025. Perpetual licenses purchased after October 2025 not eligible for complimentary FlowDesigner.
