      The FluidFlow standalone license can be transferred to a new machine when needed—whether you're upgrading hardware or moving to a different workstation. Follow this streamlined process to ensure minimal downtime and a smooth transition.

       

       

      Step-by-Step Transfer Process

      1. Install on the New Machine

        • Download and run FF3SETUP.EXE and choose Standalone (Single User or Trial) when prompted for Installation Kind.

          (Ensures this installation remains standalone.)

      2. Obtain the New Product ID

        • Launch FluidFlow on the new machine.
        • Select the ‘Help | License Manager’ menu item and note the Product ID displayed.

      3. Create the Export License File

        • On the old (currently licensed) machine, select the ‘Help | License Manager’ menu item in FluidFlow.
        • Select the Export page.
        • Enter the new machine’s Product ID.
        • Select the modules to be exported. (To transfer the full license, select all of the modules.)
        • Click the ‘Export…’ button.
        • When prompted, enter the name of the file to export to, to create the transfer file, e.g., Transfer.LIC.

      4. Move the Transfer File (Transfer.LIC)

        • Copy the .LIC file you created to the new machine.

      5. Import on the New Machine

        • Select the ‘Help | License Manager’ menu item from FluidFlow on the new machine.
        • Select the Import page.
        • Click the ‘Import…’ button.
        • When prompted browse to the location of Transfer.LIC and click Open.

       

      Once imported, your standalone license will be activated on the new machine. Restart FluidFlow to continue modeling with the transferred license.
