Understanding FluidFlow Licensing Options

What type of licensing is best for me?

FluidFlow offers a range of licensing options designed to cater to your unique needs. Each license type has its distinctive features and benefits.

For best performance and uninterrupted usage, we generally recommend one network license per three users. This ensures all users have access to the software even during peak usage periods.

License Types:

  1. Perpetual Licenses: Our perpetual licenses offer you unlimited, long-term access to FluidFlow software. Each perpetual license comes with a free 6-month period of Support, Updates, and Maintenance (SUM). In addition, these licenses are sold with an extended 12 months of SUM. After this period, additional fees may be necessary to continue receiving SUM services. Our full SUM policy can be found here.
  2. Annual Licenses: Annual licenses, valid for a one-year period, include SUM for the duration of the license. This license allows you to make full use of FluidFlow's software features, while keeping your software up-to-date and fully supported.
  3. Quarterly Licenses: We offer quarterly licenses for shorter-term projects or temporary needs. These three-month licenses provide the same access to FluidFlow software as our annual and perpetual licenses.
  4. Enterprise Licenses: Our enterprise licenses are dedicated user licensing models, which are ideal for larger organizations or teams requiring access for multiple users. This license offers a streamlined way to manage software usage within your team.

Installation Types:

Our licenses can be either standalone or server-based:

  • Standalone: This license is tied to a single machine. However, it can be transferred from one machine to another as per your needs.
  • Server-Based Network: This license enables a network installation, allowing usage across multiple machines within a network. We recommend setting up via the PSFF.ini method outlined in the network instructions. Server-based licenses can also be transferred from one server to another as required.

Software Activation:

FluidFlow licensing is protected by an activation code. Users can activate it themselves using their username and password if they have internet access. If internet access is not available, we can activate the software via email. Each installation carries a unique product ID that is linked to the individual machine or server.
