Assigning Pressure Drop

FluidFlow offers a number of options for assigning a pressure loss. You can use a Constant Head Loss node, a Kv Flow Coefficient node or a User Defined Generic node - all of which are available from the General Resistances tab of the Component Palette:     When using the Constant Head Loss node, you can enter a fixed value for pressure loss however, this will be the pressure loss across the device regardless of flow rate.   If you use a Kv Flow Coefficient node, you can enter the pressure loss as a function of flow rate and the software will scale the loss across the fitting as a function of the actual system flow rate.   Finally, if you use a User Defined Generic node, you can define the curve-fit equation for the device - if available.   The choice of node sometimes depends on the data available.
