Can FluidFlow be used to model a non-Newtonian fluid?

Yes. The Slurry module allows you to choose from the following non-Newtonian viscosity models:

Bingham Plastic
Herschel Bulkley
Power Law
Casson

Engineers can create a new non-Newtonian fluid by either entering the shear rate vs shear stress relationship or directly define the fluid viscosity constants. This data is readily available from fluid rheology data.

Note, the methods used in FluidFlow cover both laminar and turbulent flow regimes for Power Law and Herschel Bulkley fluids. For Example, the software includes the friction factor equations outlined in R. Darby for power law fluids over the entire range of Re Numbers for laminar through to turbulent flow regime.
